Vintage Signed Paris Notre-Dame Street Scene – Original Oil on Canvas – 41" Framed

A dramatic vintage original oil painting capturing an atmospheric Paris street scene with the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral rising in the distance.
Painted in a striking monochromatic palette of black, charcoal gray, ivory, and white, the scene features pedestrians, street kiosks, mature trees, and reflective pavement leading toward the cathedral. Expressive brushwork and areas of raised impasto give the painting depth and texture, while the restrained palette creates a sophisticated old-Paris atmosphere.
The large 41-inch format gives the work substantial visual presence and makes it an impressive statement piece for a living room, office, library, dining room, or European-inspired interior.
The painting is signed at the lower right. The signature appears to possibly read “L. George” or similar; however, the artist has not been positively identified and no attribution is being made.
Based on the canvas, stretcher construction, frame, hardware, and overall presentation, the painting is estimated to date from approximately the 1960s–1970s. No exact date is documented.
Presented in a substantial black wood frame with a contrasting light inner liner that complements the dramatic grayscale composition.
