Vintage Nicolaes Maes “The Spinner” Textured Art Print in Wood Frame

Vintage framed reproduction of “The Spinner,” after Dutch Golden Age artist Nicolaes Maes (1634–1693).

This warm, atmospheric domestic scene depicts an elderly woman working at a traditional spinning wheel. The original painting, known as The Spinner, was created by Nicolaes Maes during the 17th century and is held in the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

This vintage reproduction has a textured surface that gives the image added depth and a painterly appearance. It is presented in a substantial warm-toned wood frame with distinctive sculpted, curved edges and a narrow gold-tone inner accent.

The reverse retains its original vintage paper backing and includes a handwritten notation identifying the subject as “Spinner,” along with a previous-owner gift inscription.

Condition: Very good vintage condition overall. The image displays beautifully. The wood frame shows light age-appropriate wear. The original paper backing has age-related wear, including tears, small holes and edge deterioration, as shown in the photographs.
