Vintage Jacqueline Penney “Sunday Sail” Coastal Print – 43″ Framed

Peaceful, light-filled and unmistakably coastal — “Sunday Sail” is a vintage art reproduction after Jacqueline Penney’s watercolor-style coastal landscape: dune grasses and winding sand paths in the foreground, sailboats on calm water, and a red-topped lighthouse standing on the point in the distance.

Penney was known for her atmospheric coastal and Long Island landscapes, and this is a particularly attractive example of her soft, naturalistic style. A note on exactly what this is: this is the published vintage reproduction, presented in a substantial professional frame. The artist’s signature appears within the printed image at the lower right — it is part of the artwork as published and is not a hand-signed signature, and we don’t present this as an original painting. The artwork has not been removed from its frame.

Condition: Very good vintage condition from the front — the artwork, matting, glass and frame present beautifully. The older paper dust backing on the reverse shows age-related tearing, punctures and discoloration (please see the photograph of the back); that wear is confined to the reverse and does not affect the framed display.
