All aboard for a Dickens' Village Christmas — this is Department 56's “The Flying Scot” Train, a complete four-piece hand-painted porcelain accessory set from the Heritage Village Collection, Dickens' Village Series.
The train is styled after an 1860s British steam locomotive — a tribute to the famous Flying Scotsman — and couples four pieces in deep green livery with tan and gold trim: a steam locomotive carrying a “THE FLYING SCOT” nameplate over its driving wheel, a coal tender numbered 25 and loaded with firewood, and two passenger coaches marked 1–2–3 and 4–5, each with painted passengers visible in the windows and luggage stacked on the roof racks. Introduced in 1990 and retired in 1998, it is the classic static train made to run through a Dickens' Village display.
This pre-owned set is in mint condition — all four pieces free of chips, cracks and repairs, as confirmed on inspection — and it comes complete with its original Department 56 retail box, fitted styrofoam packaging and the original green hangtag, which reads “Made in Taiwan.”
