Vintage 1990 Duncan Royale “Julenisse” Collector’s Edition figurine from the celebrated History of Santa III collection.
This highly detailed sculpture represents Julenisse, the traditional Scandinavian Christmas figure rooted in Nordic folklore and closely associated with the Norwegian nisse tradition. Duncan Royale captured the character with exceptional personality and detail, including his sweeping white beard, tall red hat decorated with holly, raised lantern, walking staff, colorful rustic shoes, woodland mushrooms, and a sack overflowing with miniature Christmas gifts.
The underside retains its original Duncan Royale Collector’s Edition identification plaques and identifies this example as No. 1925 of a limited edition of 10,000.
Duncan Royale’s History of Santa collection explored the many cultural and historical traditions that contributed to the modern image of Santa Claus, making Julenisse one of the more distinctive characters in the series.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with beautiful color and strong sculptural detail. The lantern, walking staff, pointed hat, beard, mushrooms, gift sack, miniature toys, and other delicate elements appear intact. Original green felt base and Duncan Royale identification labels remain present.
