Vintage 1985 Signed Original Impasto Paintings on Canvas – Figural Pair – Framed Set of 2

Striking matching pair of vintage original paintings on canvas, each signed and dated 1985. These highly textured figural works feature elongated female figures rendered with bold palette-knife and impasto technique against abstract architectural backgrounds.

One composition depicts a single woman balancing a vessel overhead, dressed in a dramatically textured yellow and pink skirt. The companion work depicts three women walking together, including a central figure carrying a large vessel overhead. The coordinated blue, cream, brown, pink, yellow, and red palette gives the pair a distinctive mid-1980s decorative modernist appearance.

Both paintings display substantial raised paint and visible hand-worked texture throughout the clothing and figures. They are presented in matching gold-tone frames with wide cream-colored surrounds, creating a substantial coordinated display.

Each work is signed at the lower right and dated ’85. The signature appears to read “Volny Souza” or “Volney Souza.” The artist attribution has not been independently verified, so the works are being offered as signed original paintings rather than attributed to a documented artist.
