A beautifully detailed vintage 1985 Duncan Royale “Sir Christmas” collectible figurine from the celebrated History of Santa Claus II collection, produced as a Limited Collectors Edition of 10,000 pieces. Sir Christmas is the Renaissance courtier of the series — an elegant, old-world interpretation of the historical Santa Claus tradition.
He wears elaborate Renaissance-inspired dress: a rich royal blue cape with a scalloped hem of gold-dotted trim edged in pink, teal trunk hose banded in blue and gold, a pale pink sash belt with a gold buckle and tassels, and a red drawstring pouch at his hip. A wide white lace ruff collar with gold eyelet dots frames his expressive face, and a holly wreath with red berries crowns his flowing silver-gray hair; he wears a curled mustache and a pointed beard. His burgundy shoes are finished with gold rosettes, and he stands on a round sage-green base with tiny gold coins scattered at his feet. He is complete with his original removable staff — a slender rod with a decorative gold-colored finial, approximately 11.5 inches long.
The original green felt-covered underside retains its Duncan Royale gold identification plates, documenting the 1985 production and the Limited Collectors Edition of 10,000.
