Vintage Department 56 Dickens’ Village Geo Weeton Watchmaker #5926-9

Every Dickens street keeps time by its watchmaker, and this is Geo Weeton's shop — warm red brick, a dark slate-style roof carrying its dusting of snow, a curved bay window under the painted Geo Weeton name, WATCHMAKER lettered over the door, and an evergreen garland with red berries swagged across the front for Christmas.

Department 56 introduced the Geo Weeton Watchmaker in 1988 for the Dickens' Village Series, part of the Heritage Village Collection, and retired it in 1993. A hand-painted porcelain building, made in Taiwan for Department 56, with the little details collectors look for: the stone step and lantern by the door, barrels at the corners, a dormer and the round light opening at the back, and snow settled into the brickwork on both sides.
