Bring the timeless charm of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol to your holiday village with this 1986 Department 56 “Scrooge & Marley Counting House” from the Dickens’ Village Series. This is the famous counting house where Ebenezer Scrooge and his partner Jacob Marley conducted their affairs — the painted sign across the front still reads “Scrooge & Marley.”
The building has a white upper story with green shutters and terracotta window frames over a red-brick ground floor with a wide bay window and a green door, all under an olive-green shingle roof with patches of snow and a tall red-brick chimney. The underside is stamped “A Christmas Carol,” Dickens Series 1986.
Introduced in 1986, this pre-owned example is in excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs noted. It comes with its original Department 56 box and protective Styrofoam inserts, and a brand-new replacement light cord and bulb are included so the building can be illuminated. The original packaging may show normal age-related storage wear.
