Vintage 1989 Department 56 Dickens’ Village – Mr. Wickfield Solicitor – Original Box & Light

Step into the world of Charles Dickens’ David Copperfield with “Mr. Wickfield Solicitor,” a 1989 building from the Department 56 Dickens’ Village Series. It is the office of Mr. Wickfield, the kind-hearted Canterbury solicitor from the novel — his name is painted in script above the word “Solicitor” on the front of the building.

The design is full of old-world character: a red shingle roof with patches of snow and small dormers, white stucco walls on a stone foundation, wooden balconies dressed with green garlands and red bows, a wreath on the office balcony, and doors marked “Office” and “Private.” When lit, the windows glow warmly and the building becomes an inviting centerpiece for a Christmas village display.

Introduced in 1989 as part of the three-building David Copperfield collection and retired in 1992, this pre-owned example is in excellent vintage condition and presents beautifully, with its hand-painted finish well preserved. It comes with its matching original Department 56 box, and a light cord and bulb are included. The original packaging may show normal age-related storage wear.
