Product Details
Add a charming piece of Victorian England to your Christmas village with this collectible Department 56 “J. Lytes Coal Merchant,” part of the beloved Dickens' Village Series.
Introduced in 1997 and retired in 1999, this beautifully detailed porcelain building captures the character of a traditional English coal merchant's establishment: a tall timber-frame shop with the merchant's name over a garland-trimmed storefront, a wreath on the red door, a brick coal annex with its own little pile of coal, a green delivery shed lettered “Deliveries Available,” and a tall brick chimney with star-shaped tie plates.
This collectible is in exceptional, unused condition and comes with its original Department 56 packaging and Heritage Village Collection booklet. The piece has been removed from its packaging for inspection and photographs only. No visible chips, cracks, or repairs were observed. The original retail box is included and shows minor storage wear consistent with age. The light cord and bulb have not been verified, and electrical operation has not been tested — the back of the building shows the round lamp opening, as photographed.
