Vintage Manifestations International Optical Illusionary Metallic Art – Framed Landscape Set of 2

A striking matched set of two vintage optical illusionary artworks by Manifestations International, Inc. of Carlsbad, California, presented in substantial matching ornate gold-tone and cream frames.

Manifestations produced its distinctive artwork using an unusual light-reactive process. According to the original manufacturer information sheet retained on the reverse, each design began as a detailed pen-and-India-ink drawing. A plate was then created from the drawing and impressed onto a metallic surface at varying depths, producing an iridescent appearance and an illusion of movement as the viewing angle and surrounding light change.

This matched set features two atmospheric landscape scenes: one depicting a picturesque country residence and garden and the other a tranquil wooded waterside landscape. Both pieces display changing metallic highlights and dimensional effects under different lighting conditions.

The presentation is especially impressive. Each work is housed under glass in a substantial matching decorative frame with ornate raised corner embellishments, gold-tone detailing, cream inner molding, and coordinating matting. The elaborate frames are an important part of the overall decorative presentation.
