The village bank from Norman Rockwell's beloved painting "Stockbridge at Christmas." Hawthorne's illuminated sculpture recreates the Housatonic Bank — its name lettered on the sign over the door — as a red-brick building with a white columned portico, a fanlight in the pediment, green Christmas wreaths flanking the entrance, and snow piled on the slate roof and along the sidewalk base. From Hawthorne's Porchlight Collections, in the Norman Rockwell's Christmas in Stockbridge collection.
This example is in mint condition and comes with its original Certificate of Authenticity — Sculpture No. 14604A, matching the number printed on the underside of the piece — its original box and fitted Styrofoam packaging, and a new replacement LED lighting cord; the lighting works. The original cardboard box shows age-related storage wear, including old tape residue on the lid; the building itself remains mint.
