Vintage 1989 Department 56 Ruth Marion Scotch Woolens #5585-9 Dickens Village

Two shops under one snow-dusted roof: Ruth Marion's Scotch Woolens, with its golden-unicorn sign and glowing lattice bay windows, and the little Flowers shop tucked into the annex, wreath on the door. Green shingled roofs, three brick chimneys, and half-timbered walls over warm herringbone brick — early Dickens' Village at its most detailed.

Department 56 introduced Ruth Marion Scotch Woolens in January 1989 as a limited edition of 17,500 pieces for the Dickens' Village Series, Heritage Village Collection, and retired it in December 1990. This example is hand-numbered 16,662 of 17,500, stamped on the underside with the 1989 copyright. The original box end confirms it: hand-painted porcelain, made in Taiwan exclusively for Department 56.
