Department 56 Dickens’ Village Mr. & Mrs. Pickle Cottage #5824-6 MINT w/ Box

Every Dickens' Village street needs its characters, and the Pickles are the village shopkeepers — their half-timbered, thatch-roofed cottage carries a little "Antiques" shop in the side annex, the hand-lettered Mr. & Mrs. Pickle sign by the door, and a Christmas wreath on each of its two red doors.

Department 56 introduced the Mr. & Mrs. Pickle Cottage in 1994 as one of the three Portobello Road Thatched Cottages — its companions are the Browning Cottage and the Cobb Cottage, and all three share the set number 5824-6 printed on this piece's original box. It was retired in 1997. The underside carries the molded Dickens' Village Series mark with the 1994 copyright, and the original inspection sticker shows it was made in China for Department 56.
