Vintage Department 56 Dickens’ Village King’s Road Post Office #5801-7

Every Christmas letter in Dickens' London passed through a post office like this one — a tall stone building with a curved bay window, the royal crown and ER cipher over the bay, a bright red pillar box by the door, ivy climbing the wall, and the mail cart waiting at the side with its sacks.

Department 56 introduced the King's Road Post Office in 1992 for the Dickens' Village Series and retired it in 1998. The underside carries the molded Dickens' Village Series mark with the 1992 copyright, and the original inspection sticker shows it was made in China for Department 56.
