Department 56 Dickens' Village Bumpstead Nye Cloaks & Canes #5808-4 – 1993

On a snowy corner of Pump Lane stands Bumpstead Nye, the Dickens' Village cloak-and-cane shop — a tall, narrow Tudor storefront of cream plaster and dark half-timbering, crowned with steep gables and a red tile roof dusted with snow. Hand-painted signs announce the shop on three faces: “Bumpstead Nye” over the glowing red bay window, “Cloaks Canes” above the green door with its Christmas wreath, and a “Bedding Chamber” sign around the side for travelers staying the night. A tall brick chimney and a winding stone chimney breast complete a building full of Dickensian character.

Bumpstead Nye Cloaks & Canes (#5808-4) was introduced in December 1993 and retired in December 1996 as part of the Heritage Village Collection's Dickens' Village Series. This example comes complete with its original retail box and fitted Styrofoam packaging, its original booklet, and its original lighting cord — still sealed in its factory bag. The lighting has been tested and works.
