Mr. Brownlow's house from Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist — the home of the kind widower who takes young Oliver in. Department 56 brought the residence to the Dickens' Village Series in 1990 as part of the Heritage Village Collection, hand-painted in porcelain.
The Brownlow House is a gray stone residence with a deep-blue shingled roof dusted with snow and twin red brick chimneys. Ivy climbs the front wall beside the double doors, where the “Brownlow” name sign hangs; a wreath fills the front window, and the house number 1812 is painted beside the shuttered window. Lit from within, the windows glow warm against the stone — the classic early Dickens' Village look.
